I love it when a pattern just screams at you to get creative and the new Megan Skirt pdf pattern from Designer Stitch is one of those patterns that makes it loud and clear that it wants you to get creating and makes it very easy to do so.
For my skirt, I chose to make view b, which is one of the versions that has pockets, because who doesn’t love pockets!
I had this beautiful floral that I picked up at the local thrift store. I had intended on using it to make a tunic but didn’t notice until I got home that the piece which I thought was a full meter, actually had a quarter of it cut out, leaving me with an awkward L-shaped piece. It was just the right height for the skirt panel, though, and went perfectly with the denim I also had on hand.
And do you remember the fabric post I did back in January? This was the blue fringed lace that I picked up so that I could make another Willow Kimono, also from Designer Stitch. These two pieces were made for each other!
I have to say that since I have started to sew Designer Stitch patterns, I have become much more creative with my sewing and fabric choices. And I am having so much fun putting all of these looks together.
If you want to give your creative spark a boost, you can pick up your own copy of the Megan Skirt. It is on sale until Friday. February 3 for $8 US and afterwards will be available for the regular price of $12 US.

Nice work on the skirt and your outfit is lovely!
Thank you!
I have never heard the term Megan skirt. I think we would have called this a panel skirt in my day. Very cute.
Thank you! I think you are correct. The Megan Skirt is a panel skirt. I am sure I saw that in the pattern description. It is the first time I have made one and I am quite pleased with it.
Looks great.
Great outfit. I really am enjoying watching for what you’ll make next.
Thanks! I am always wondering what will be next, too!
Looks fab. Great contrast on the skirt
Thank you…The contrast panel has a nice texture to it, too!
