I am up again with another Date Night February blog tour post and this time I am featuring the ultimate in date night wear, the Pippa Wrap Dress, from one of my favourite pattern companies, Designer Stitch.
Now I cheated a bit on this one, as this is from a dress I made last fall and these pictures were taken as hubby and I snuck away for an impromptu photo shoot while attending my nephew’s wedding!
I never did get a chance to share this dress, though and it really deserves the space here on my blog. So what a better time to share it than for the Date Night blog tour.
The hubby and I don’t really do formal date nights. I am really a more down-to-earth, let’s go grab a warm drink and go for a nice long walk kind of girl and hubby is totally okay with that. So seeing both of us dressed up is kind of a once in a blue moon event!
The Pippa is the perfect dress for a night on the town. I made this out a lovely satin that has beautiful drape to it. The pattern also includes a variation to make this into a peplum top and comes in two dress lengths. The mid-length which is the version I made and a longer tea-length. It also features flutter sleeves that come in two sleeve lengths and the one I made is the longer of the two.
Here is a lovely shot of me trying to convince the skirt stay put. WARNING: be cautious about taking pictures on a really windy day in a wrap dress…others may get an image they won’t soon forget!
We had a lot of fun doing our own photo shoot that day and this dress was perfect on the dance floor. It has been a long time since we have had the opportunity to dance the night away so we squeezed in as many dances as we could!
Thanks for joining me and don’t forget to check out all of the other blog tour participants. This is one talented group of ladies! Be prepared to be inspired!!!
